David Beckham won't consider signing a new contract with Real Madrid unless he can be convinced he will playing regularly.

Both Real president Ramon Calderon and coach Fabio Capello want Beckham secured to a two-year deal and the England international is happy to put pen to paper - but only if he receives assurances he will spend most of the next two years on the pitch.

Capello spoke with Becks this week at Real's training HQ in Valdebebas, assuring the midfielder of his confidence in him. But as a source close to the player told AS: "His ideal solution is staying in Madrid. But if Capello doesn't pick him, then he'll soon be on a plane out of there."
